First aid training and FREC courses, delivered by experienced professionals. Regular courses are held at our training centre, based in Plymouth, Devon. We can also run them for clients on a nationwide and international scale offsite or at your premises.

International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code courses either at our training centre in the UK, at your premises or off-site. We have e-learning courses for Proficiency in Designated Security Duties and Proficiency in Security Awareness which can be taken solely online without the need to visit an assessment centre.
Securewest provide consultancy related to the ISPS Code including our ISPS ship, Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) or port security assessment and plan services. Our Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely and Working Safely courses cover the essentials of health and safety in the workplace. They are aimed at employees and managers in all types of organisations and look at people’s responsibilities for health and safety, and workplace hazards and risks, and how to control them.
Securewest provide education and assessor qualifications for those who work, or want to work as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector, including those who are not in a teaching role.
Experienced, professional trainers run a range of travel risk training courses to enhance your traveller safety and meet your duty-of-care obligations. They are aimed at groups of travellers, high-risk individuals or persons responsible for booking travel.
We include modules for diverse traveller groups, and where required, content can be amended in line with your branding, policies and processes. We aim to increase risk awareness and reduce the impact of incidents on the traveller and organisation.
ELCAS (Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme) funding is available to serving and ex-members of the British Armed Forces. As an Approved Training Centre, you can use your ELCAS funding for a selection of our courses to progress your career and further develop your skills.

05-OCT-20 – General Security Warning – UKMTO reported that Iranian military forces will be conducting a military exercise with live firings in the Persian Gulf east of Larak. Link to report.
06-OCT-20 – General Security Warning – UKMTO reported that Iranian military forces will be conducting a military exercise with live firing in the vicinity south of ABU MUSA and BANDAR ABBAS. Link to report.
06-OCT-20 – Robbery – A MV was robbed in Pointe Noire Anchorage. Vessel and crew reported safe.
08-OCT-20 – Boarding – An anchored bulk carrier was boarded Macapa Anchorage, Brazil. Two intruders boarded and broke into the forecastle store. The crew mustered and the intruders escaped without stealing anything.
09-OCT-20 – Boarding – An unnamed motor vessel was boarded by two intruders in Lagos Port, Gulf of Guinea. The duty watchmen raised the alarm and the intruders escaped. The vessel and crew were reported as being safe.
09-OCT-20 – Migrant and Refugee – Home Office reported that French authorities intercepted two boats with 16 migrants on board and prevented a further 18 migrants from leaving the shore.
09-OCT-20 – Migrant and Refugee – Home Office reported that three boats with 56 migrants on board were intercepted in the English Channel.
Migrant and Refugee Incident: This could involve Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, or information about a boat capsizing and people drowning, or an attack on the group.
General Security Warning: Incidents which do not fit in the other categories, but enhance the situational awareness, e.g. flag state advisories or an attack on a non- commercial vessel such as a warship.
Boarding: Unauthorized boarding of a vessel by persons not part of its complement without successfully taking control of the vessel.
Robbery: Theft from a vessel or from persons aboard the vessel.
